Opportunity to participate in the open abstract submission process exclusively for IntRIS members. Retina specialists interested in submitting scientific abstracts and speaking at society-sponsored conferences will need to be members to be eligible.

Membership fee:
$299/year
Membership period:
Current membership period: September 2024 - December 2025.
*Beginning January 2026, the membership period will run from January to December and will renew annually each January.
Membership criteria:
Any physician who holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine or basic scientist who holds a degree of Doctor of Philosophy may be eligible for consideration for membership. Physicians must hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
In addition, the following criteria for physicians should be met:
at least one year of post-residency training or experience with special emphasis on diseases of the posterior segment.
authorship, as first or corresponding author, of at least three publications related to imaging of posterior segment diseases that have been published within the preceding four years in a refereed, peer reviewed journal;
recommendation for membership by two Individual Members of the Society.
Basic scientists with PhD degrees should have:
an interest in retinal imaging;
authorship, as first or corresponding author, of at least three publications related to imaging of posterior segment diseases that have been published within the preceding four years in a refereed, peer reviewed journal;
recommendation for membership by two Individual Members of the Society.
Certain candidates for membership who have made major contributions in the field of interest of the Society may be admitted to the Society on recommendation of the Membership Committee without fulfilling the previously mentioned criteria. Request for an exception here.
Note: Applications are reviewed once a year, and applicants must apply by September 1st to be considered for the following year's membership.
